About TORAJAMELO

TORAJAMELO is a purpose-driven social enterprise that collaborates with indigenous women in rural Indonesia to preserve cultural heritage, promote eco-conscious craftsmanship, and empower communities through sustainable livelihoods.

re-melo is our circular fashion program that breathes new life into pre-loved and leftover tenun fabrics. Through upcycling and creative reuse, we reduce textile waste and champion a more sustainable approach to fashion.

Every product you buy supports indigenous women artisans, preserves traditional weaving techniques, and contributes to environmentally conscious practices—all while promoting fair wages and ethical production.

Our weavers and craftswomen come from over 10 provinces across Indonesia, including regions in Sulawesi, Flores, and Kalimantan.

Our products are currently hosted on ahana.co. When you click on the “Shop” button, you’ll be redirected to our shop page there for checkout and secure payment.

Products

Our items are made with natural materials and dyes. We recommend gentle hand-washing in cold water and air-drying in the shade to preserve their color and integrity.

Yes, each TORAJAMELO product is handcrafted by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. This ensures uniqueness and cultural authenticity in every piece.

In the spirit of sustainability, we love when customers want to breathe new life into something. Share your idea with us and we’ll see how we can support your vision.

Sustainability

Our products are made using handwoven tenun fabric, natural dyes, and slow production methods. We work directly with artisan communities to minimize environmental impact and ensure every piece reflects our commitment to conscious living.

Yes. Many of our textiles are dyed using plant-based or mineral dyes, a traditional process that’s safer for the environment and the people making them.

Circular fashion focuses on reducing waste and extending a product’s life. Through our REMELO line, we upcycle leftover tenun into new items, giving fabric a second life while reducing our footprint.

We carefully design patterns to minimize leftover fabric. Whatever remains is creatively reused in our REMELO line or repurposed into accessories and packaging.
